I finished High School in the end of 2007 and wasn't really sure about what to do next. So I rescued an old idea: go overseas and do an exchange!
Once decided, I chose Australia as my destination for three reasons: English was the main language, the weather was quite similar to Brazil and Australian people were said to be warmer than other english speaking cultures.
I didn't know much about the country so I started searching about it on the internet. What I found was nice and civilized places with great infrastructure, which in some points was much different from Brazil, so finally I came to check it out.
More than excited about going overseas by myself I was looking forward to living with an australian family and literally diving into a completely new culture.
Details such as food and habits I knew would be different, and it's absolutely true! However it is the lifestyle what was definitely interesting to compare.
In my tenth month of Australia, I don't really remember what my first impressions were, but I can tell that many things in here made me think a lot about my life, my lifestyle and my country itself.
